When true legends die its hard to credit their achievments - a hot looking
woman who loved sex and could drink any man under the table, leader
of 7,000 resistance fighters, the most highly decorated woman of WWII,
met Hitler and hated the Nazis after she saw them bayonet a pregnant
woman and her baby, killed an awful lot of the enemy including one sentry
with her bare hands, hunted by the Gestapo as the most wanted woman of the war, afterwards wearing her Chevalier Legion D`Honour she was
entitled by law to a salute from any French official including the lowest
gendarme yet she died in a London old people`s home ! Gutsy women
like her and the rest of S.O.E. -we will never see their like again.

Was at Eden Camp yesterday and was saddened when I got home to read about this.

They were talking about her on Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 this lunchtime.

It's on Listen Again / iPlayer (link below), well worth a listen.
