This guy has been captured alive.If he is not judged insane then he will be locked up for the rest of his life.He has devastated hundred of families.Can't think of a single reason why he should not be executed for this sickening spree.In fact I think it is quite disgraceful that he is allowed to live!

Apparently the most he can get in Norway is 21 years. I wonder if that will change?

The Americans will no doubt be devastated that they can't blame Al Qaeda for this massacre. The sheer scale of the killing beggars belief.

I listened to a variety of "security experts" holding forth on Sky News and the BBC as this story played out.

I am not quite sure what the qualifications are to be a security expert. I suspect the main one is the bottle to call yourself a security expert. The ones I heard on Sky and the BBC seemed to be talking out of their arses. Rabbitting on about a "Mumbai-style" attack, together with all the "internet chatter" suggesting that it is an al Qaeda spectacular.

The security expert on Sky, Sam Someone or other wasnt exactly salivating at the thought of further attacks but he didn't seem far off. He seemed to be predicting that this could be the first of a number of near simultaneous al Qaeda Mumbai massacres in multiple European capitals.

When it was announced that the guy arrested was white, blond, 6ft. 3in and spoke fluent Norwegian, you could almost see the look of panic in the security experts. So then they changed tack and started rabbiting on about "clean skins" i.e. locals who could travel easily and would have been recruited by the nasty Aarabs. Another theory was that Muslims in Chechynia are often white etc etc.

I suppose it fills the time slot up, but reality it ain't.

I suspect the number of large scale death attacks in northern Europe and the States is much much more the province of schoolkid/college nutters etc etc and right wing religious fundamentalists than it is the West's ongoing bogeyman, the Aarab terrorist.

Though it appears that this attack was by a white, far right-wing, christian fundamentalist, there is an emerging convergence between such people and the Islamo-fascists.
