Hi David,

People like her never really suffer when they resign because of some controversial thing they have done or overseen. It's not as if she will have a reduction in her standard of living or anything. She will either leave with a 7 figure pay off or walk straight into another ridiculously highly paid position - or both.

News Corp seems in complete disarray. First Rupes says the organisation has only made "minor" mistakes in dealing with the crisis and has supported Brooks a 100% in the last two weeks.

Err, if Rebekah Brooks had gone last week, would you have had to close down your most profitable paper in the UK, Rupert? Closing down the NOTW, didnt save Ms Brooks, nor did it save your BSkyB bid did it?

Secondly News Corporation is to take out national press adverts this weekend to apologise for what it described as "the wrongdoings at the News of the World".

Thirdly the FBI is investigating reports that Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation sought to hack the phones of victims of the 9/11 attacks.

If the FBI come up with a result, time for Rupert to take an early bath, methinks.
