Billy Davis sacked at Forest.

Billy Davis one of the best managers Forest have had since Brian Clough has been sacked this afternoon.
There is talk that ex England manager Steve McClaren will take over tomorrow.

This seems to be a similar situation to the sacking of Dave Jones at Cardiff. Both Cardiff and Nottingham Forest have been the nearly men of Championship promotion over the last few seasons.
I guess both Boards thought they just need a manager with a bit extra to get them promoted to the land of the Holy Grail.
It just came through on the news that McLeish has resigned from Birmingham City so he might be a factor.

think mcclaren will do a good job. i liked billy but made a lot of mistakes in my opinion.

So McClaren is to be the new Forest manager. I guess they went for his experience in managing a Premier League side.
Although he had some success at Middlesborough, during his stay Steve Gibson, the Boro chairman invested heavily in the finance for players. So it is going to be interesting to see how McClaren does at an English club which doesn't seem to have the same funds available as his other teams, Man Utd and Middlesborough had.
