Yeah, I loved the bit about her stress on the importance of being rational. Rather undermined when her married lover cheated on her and she went totally apeshit.

Nauseating ideas, but quite popular amongst Tory MPs apparently.

Hannan, a Tory MEP, I think and Douglas Carswell, the Tory MP for Clacton, co-authored a book titled The Plan: Twelve Months To Renew Britain. The book, according to the pair, is influenced by the work of Ayn Rand, the Russian-American emigr?, free-market radical and libertarian ?philosopher?.

The mind boggles! But not as much as this pair's brains bubble!

As I recall, the clips were from a film based on Rand's books (The Fountainhead) as well as illustrating her earlier job as a movie extra.

I think Curtis is a great ideas man. Whether you agree with all his ideas like going from Ayn Rand to Alan Greenspan and the collapse of the Asian economies is another thing.

I agree with you on the music. I find it obtrusive and for me, doesn't add anything for much of the time. It smacks of the "people can't listen to thoughts too long without a bit of background plinky plonky".

What's refreshing is that you have got someone making films on critical issues in a very thought-provoking way so at the end of it you are thinking "Yeah, I enjoyed that. Now about those theories he puts forward" i.e. it generates thought in the viewer.

I look forward to the rest of the series which is something I can't say about much else on tele.
