I have had a reply, although not as full as i'd have liked. I shall try again.

Vidshop- why bother ?

Don't really understand all this .
If there's a problem with Vidshop, vote with your feet and take
your wallet with you.
They don't appear to supply anything that can't be got elsewhere,
so why not go elsewhere.
It's also the best way to push up standards.

Don't reward a poor supplier, whether it be xxx or socks, with
YOUR hard-earned.
Remember that your doing THEM a favour, not the other way round !

Let's hope Rich truely is the messiah.
For my part,it's simply a case of getting a better choice and
service elsewhere.

Service, I am not arguing about, better choice? Elsewhere is not the UK is it? Can someone inform me, can we legally ship into the country? It would make my life a whole lot easier, I see many conflicting reports.

You can...if the material meets the BBFC guidelines. Customs and Excise are *supposed* to be allowing such material into the country. I have read that people have successfully imported porn, even with it being opened and checked by Customs. In theory, any film that would be granted a BBFC cert. for R18 if it were to be submitted in this country, should be suitable for import.

See the BBFC website, www.bbfc.co.uk for info on what is and isn't OK in the guidelines...Customs should follow this, at least that's the policy as far as I am aware. Whether individual officers are up on this is another matter. You can also see the kind of films that are being certificated - so the likes of Vivid might be OK, but Max Hardcore or some Germanic fisting action is a no-no.

You should contact both these bodies (BBFC and especially Customs in your case)- they can actually be quite helpful if you ask nicely - and a lawyer too before proceeding. Obviously people are importing porn from North American suppliers without problems, but does that make it legal...? As I say, it should be - in theory.

As long as the tapes/DVDs conform to the BBFC's R18 regulations, you can ship into the UK from Europe. Not from within the UK.
Funny old world ain't it!

AFAIK it is now OK to import hardcore from Europe/US into the UK, as long as the tapes/DVDs conform to the BBFC's R18 guidelines (www.bbfc.co.uk).
Therefore, it is legal for Vidshop to send material from outside the UK to the UK, but NOT from the UK to the UK.
Funny old world, ain't it?!
You could try to email customs to confirm this.
