"Actually we did elect him."
Not in any meaningful sense, unlike the voters elected Thatcher and Blair.
Cameron did not have an overall majority. Thatcher and Blair did. If the Lib Dems had not been prepared to throw away the principles that got them the seats they won, in return for power with the Tories, Cameron would have had to try and struggle on for a few months as a minority government or have another election immediately.

"I can't make my mind up about green dave, but where he was educated is irrelevant to me,"
It is clearly not irrelevant to Dave who has tried to play down his connections with the aristocratic, privileged, rich, yobbish set that attended Eton, Oxford and the infamous Bullingdon club. Even to the extent of suppressing photographs of himself and all his aristo chums at Oxford.

As far as I am concerned, Mandelson represented much that was wrong with the Labour government.
Mind you, I don't recall Mandelson trying to suppress pictures of himself with aristo chums as part of a notorious drinking club for Eton educated toffs? This after all was the point I was making - a politician trying to play down his aristo education and social scene, wasn't it?
I was pointing out that unlike your views on politicians' education, it does clearly matter to Dave about his educational experiences. And Dave would be delighted if all the pictures of him in tails with his aristo chums dropped down a Brian Cox intergalatic black hole.

The one on the left is Mandelson. Oh no it isn't, it's George Osborne. Sorry!
Anyway who cares as long as the economy is heading in the right direction?
