Personally I thought Only Fools and Horses was great entertainment and brings back happy memories of being sat with my Dad who sadly is no longer alive, both pissing ourselves laughing at the episode where Rodney and Del Boy were dressed up as Batman and Robin.
I thought John Sullivan was a great writer.
Cheers

The man was a talented writer. Whether you liked him or not, the show is still a spopualr as ever and that is testimony to its success.
John Sullivan is up there among the best of them RIP
Made me gigle no end and I found the show very uplifting compared to that other depression inducing Beeb favourite East (its grim dahn sahf) Enders

Before I was in porn, ie in normal video facilities, Sullivan used to bike over loads of VHS copies of his shows, like "Dear John" and "Only Fools and Horses" and I used to have to convert them from PAL to NTSC which is the USA television standard. I presume he was trying to get work work over there. I wonder if he ever got any success in the USA?
