I dont see any change particularly. Arsenal are in the top four year after year. They have a reasonable run in the Champions League year after year. Arsene Wenger is a genius at bringing on young players rather than splashing the cash for the finished article. Ok they havent been winning silverware but the Emirates is still doing pretty well, crowdwise and they are in the money spinning competitions year after year.
"Expect no returns"? If you cant get a reasonable return out of a club like Arsenal with a manager like Wenger, then you are in the wrong business. Compared to Ferguson, the recent Chelsea managers, Mancini, Harry Rednapp, Dalglish etc etc, Wenger is as tight as a centipede's arse when it comes to parting with the cash.

As a fan I would expect some silverware more frequently than the current set up is delivering.

That's a completely different point from what a businessman needs from a club to get a return on their investment. Fans have a completely different perspective.
Arsenal's attendance has been almost at 100% at the Emirates this season, 60,000. Apart from Old Trafford, they have by far the biggest attendance in the Premier League. If you put that together with Wenger's spending policies, Arsenal must represent the best chance of getting a "return on investment" in the Premier League.

Operating profits were ?60 million in 2009 and the club's profits have risen in each year since they moved to the Emirates.
