I remember seeing her in a TV interview years ago where she was asked about Richard Burton, who was already deceased, and she said "I hope to be reunited with him one day". Maybe they now have been reunited. (although I don't personally believe there is an after-life but many people do).

Who really gives a chiff? Been a "celebrity" not a legitimate star for a good 40 years.

As a teenager and young woman she was as hot as hell (those eyes,
those tits, those red lips). She lost it, in my opinion, relatively early on
which made her superb at playing busty milfs (The Taming of the Shrew)
and old hags (Who`s Afraid of Virginia Woolf).
Personally I could never stand her trans-Atlantic accent, one of the worst
examples of this kind of speech, being not American or English !
And her demand for a huge salary for Cleopatra was the start of a trend
by big stars to ask for over-inflated pay checks and has fucked up the
entertainment biz ever since.
I have an old friend who used to work on the entertainment page of the
Daily Mirror; he tells the story that on the plane back to London from
Rome at the completion of Cleopatra the ever easy-going Richard Burton
insisted on buying drinks for everybody, while Liz was whining in
the background. In the end he turned to her and said, "Elizabeth, for
God`s sake, shut the fuck up !"
