Hi,
Forties/Fifties Hollywood star, Jane Russell died earlier in the week.

Made a number of raunchy (for those Hollywood days) films with the likes of Bob Hope and Marilyn Monroe.

RIP Jane

I saw a recently recorded tv interview with her. Still pretty gorgeous.

Yep, as a little kid I remember seeing her in a re-run on the tele off the Outlaw, I think it was. Now she looks very interesting, I recall.

Apparently she had no" I am the big star" about her and was well thought of.

Particularly by billionaire recluse, Howard Hughes apparently.

Cheers

Well he did direct one of her most famous films, The Outlaw, from which the picture in your original posting is taken.

Also chief bra designer I believe, cantilever and all sorts, seemed to work rather nicely though.

So the story goes, though she claims she never wore it.

Apparently, Hughes brought his aircraft design skills into action in designing the bra.

He does seem to have been multi-talented, luckily on that occasion he left the spruce at home!

It's funny how as a teenager of the seventies I could never really get excited by the pin up girls of the world war two era because I knew they were all a bit older than my mum and it seemed weird at the time.

Now, however I look at Jane Russell and others like (my favourite) Rita Hayworth and I think they looked so subliminally sexual - as they had to imply everything back then due to heavy censorship. I also think the huge studio budgets of the day probably enabled the top photographers to do whatever they needed.
