I saw this on the news today, I wonder what those peole are trying to buy (or have bought) with these donations. It's funny how these people would claim that they are not trying to influence Government decision making in their favour yet when a party loses office most of the donations stop. Why's that then? I think these big corporations should have their bluff called on this and there should be a rule that says you must give just as much money to a party when they're in Opposition as you do when they're in Government, and for the same duration of time aswell. I wonder how these corporations would feel about that.

Check out Guido Fawkes, this figure is largely bullshit. Most of the money comes from a property developer, not a city financier. I'm not saying I like property developers, but they are not the same thing as "the City".

"Yes and "the city" if we accept that term has any meaning (lets call them banks) just got screwed for ?2.5 Billion pounds EVERY year, yesterday bank bosses were LIVID at George Osborne raising an extra ?800 Million from them this year."

Blimey OReilly, hold the back page, someone out there actually believed this "banks were LIVID" shtick. It really hammered their share price didn't it. Oh hang on a minute, it had no effect whatsoever.

And wait a minute what is that nice Lord Oakshott, the Lib Dem Treasury spokesman saying about the Merlin deal that the Lib Dems and Tories had cruelly forced the banks to agree on re. bonuses and lending etc.

He described the plans inadequate and accused Mr Osborne?s team of ?arrogance and incompetence?. The lending agreement included ?weasel words?, he said, adding: ?I?m afraid when you look at the small print, it?s really not as good as it looks.?

Oh dear, time for a new can of Cameron piss to get me over this one. Eh?

Lord Oakshott, Lib Dem Treasury spokesman, former City financier, adviser to Vince Cable.

Got sacked for, unlike the vast majority of Lib Dems in the coalition, speaking the truth.

Do keep up!

There needs to be a complete overhaul of party funding, I have said before the possibility of them all being funded by the State could be looked at, with the most sucessful getting the most money. I can't think of any other way to stop this business of people buying favours.
