Re: Vince Cable should have been sacked
He is slime but a lot of people will actually back him for trying to block Murdoch. If he got 100% of SKY you would see nothing but American programming and the news channel would be so right wing as to upset the BNP.
Re: Vince Cable should have been sacked
Right he has been caught out saying something and most people would not care too much about what has said.
Question is how did the 2 do this journalists do this, did they use his valuable time with his public or was it a drop in and hi we'll vote for you lets have quick chat situation? Not much detail how they set this up.
And it was the BBC that released detailed conversation not the Telegraph.
Also this from FT:
"The Telegraph, a commercial rival of Mr Murdoch, did not release Mr Cable?s comments when it ran a transcript of his conversation with the undercover journalists on Tuesday but insisted it was planning to run its scoop on Wednesday."

Anyone who dares say, I've declared war on Murdoch!" gets my vote. The power this man wields is disgusting and sinister. I am a Sun reader (Know your enemy and it's 20p and I can chuck it in the bin after having a Starbucks)) and the insidious way in which he attempts to control and manipulate his readers is sickening.
The Sun's, ie Murdochs mantras are:
Any excuse to kick the BBC, why? So presumably, God help us, the whole country has only Sky to watch and we'd all have to pay.
Any political protest is disapproved of.
Any strike is, "Holding the country to ransom."
All union leaders are demonised.
Any anti war feeling is to be stamped on.
Wikileaks is a an Al Qaeda front.
Any anti-American feeling, is treason.
Any "friendly fire" incident or American bombing of civilians ends up a little footnote on page 6.
Undying support for any action/ atrocity committed by Israel.
Every second page has a paedo story.
How wonderful our celebs, Royal Family and how caring Posh & Becks are.
These are the commandments and values with which Murdoch attempts to subjugate the working people of Britain.
Personally, i don't think his readers give a toss about Murdoch's creepy, insidious attempts at brainwashing. They, like me, enjoy reading the stupid trivia. The idiot, like all megalomaniacs, flatters himself.

Re: Vince Cable should have been sacked
"Because it would have damaged the coalition and the one thing that unites Cameron, Clegg, Cable, Murdoch, The Telegraph, Kay Burley is that they never ever want to see another Labour government."
A very cogent argument on your part for having another Labour government I would have thought!

Re: Vince Cable should have been sacked
People like Murdoch had Blair and New Labour by the balls. They were terrified of everyone with money and power. For example I believe that in the days of Blair and Bush, Wikileaks founder, Assange would have been bound and gagged by Blair's henchmen and delivered to Bush to do whatever he liked. The court prceedings would have been corrupted by Blair's cronIes.
Maybe Cable hasn't been sacked because he was simply vocalising what everyone thinks anyway. It is healthy that unlike
In New Labour, the members of the Coalition are not being controlled by, spin doctering, puppeteers!

This is me by the way so I wont be going into a "You Jim Slip will have me carted off to the TOry torture chamber" blah blah bit.
I suspect the reason he hasnt been sacked is purely because the Tories need the Lib Dems to take all the flak and they also need their support to govern.
Looking at the measures that have been introduced so far, few could deny that this government is a Tory run government propped up by the Lib Dems. This is hardly surprising given the number of seats the Tories won. Whilst the Lib Dems rating has dropped through the floor from 23% or so to 8%, the Tories ratings are still pretty high.
All the flak has been going the Lib Dems way and Cleggie has looked increasingly depressed. So to have the Lib Dems giving the Tories an overall majority and to take all the flak at the same time is a win win for Cameron. If it had been a Tory minister saying what Cable had said, I feel pretty sure, his feet wouldnt have touched the floor. Look how Lord Young was dealt with. A different situation, but it gives you an idea of what would have happened.
Cheers and a Merry Xmas to you, Jimbo!

Re: Vince Cable should have been sacked
Vince Cable is a stupid gobby cunt who was shooting his mouth off to a couple of young girls, trying to impress them like a poor man's Berlusconi. Stupid old tosser. He's got no judgment, which means he's not fit to be a minister. Green Dave hasn't got the stones to sack the old twat, because keeping the coalition together is all he cares about.
