Check out this alternative to smoking, its a 'cigarette' you dont light but breath through and it apparently tastes like a cigarette. It's harmless and you can even 'smoke' it in the pub! Has anyone heard of these before, or ever tried them?

If you can't stop smoking by throwing your fags and lighter away and get on with it then don't waste money on these so called cures.
Stopping smoking is all in the mind. You either want to stop or you don't.
I smoked anything legal, rollups, tailor mades, cigars and pipes, and one day my favourite pipe was run over by a Chieftain tank and on going back to fags I found I just didn't like them anymore. That was in 1985 and I haven't smoked since. The fucking really annoying thing for me was I had no withdrawal symptoms and was angry that I hadn't done it years before.

Thats interesting. If I'm being honest I don't want to stop smoking, I just think I ought to stop for health reasons. Smoking kills half of all people who do it apparently, and I had a relative who died of lung cancer who was a heavy smoker. I am not a heavy smoker, I generally only smoke when I have a beer, but any smoking is bad for you.

You can always wait and maybe get what happened to me, overnight I became asthmatic. Every time I lit up a fag and tried to smoke it, my throat contracted, it was horrible. I was forced to stop about 18 months ago. What's strange is shortly after I stopped drinking as well, it was like the smoking and drinking were linked.

When I was young I used to work in a hospital and I always thought the most terrifying outcome for smokers was emphysema. Watching people gasping for breath, dragging an oxygen bottle along and smoking a fag!! This was in the 70's when everyone fagged.

After I stopped, I too thought what a terrible waste of money.
