'Too quick off the mark?' That depends where you are coming from. It has to be remembered that the police would be derelict in their duty if they did not vigorously investigate a shooting. Lets face it, they weren't to know the details until they looked into it. And having investigated and seen the circumstances, the CPS decides not to proceed; as happens in the majority of similar cases. The cases that come to prominence contain issues that require the courts to decide.
