Yesterday recieved CDS DVDS LP all smashed to bits record was very badly damaged even the inner sleeve and inlay envelopes were ripped open too not so worried about the cd cases as i can get replacements only had time to check 1 item so far.

Lot of temporary staff to deal with x mas rush, percentage of stuff going missing in post increases, plus level of service drops, we see this every year and there is nothing we can do about it.

It is nice to hear a consumer understanding it is the Royal Mail fault, and not the suppliers for once.

I'm sure the service will be much, much better and the prices much, much cheaper when they have been privatised, you know like what's happened with every other utility that's been privatised.

My cousin joined the PO when he left the RN in the days when the vast majority of posties were ex service with an ethos of self discipline and a dedication to delivering the mail on their round. Since then few posties are ex service and to be blunt a small proportion of them are thieves. A very good friend, now retired from the PO, informed me of the methods they use
to catch the thieves. They are quite succesful at it as well. One seems to read in the papers every other week of some lazy arsehole postie with a house full of undelivered mail and others caught opening registered post. They will be caught. Unfortunately it isn't overnight.
The shame of all this is that the PO replaced all the managers who were time served posties with Uni graduates who knew fuckall about the mail service, and still don't. A good managerial system is now a shadow of its former self and all due to the senior fucking management who readied the service for privatisation and got fuckall for their trouble.

My postie is a top bloke, he has one hell of a fucking round, there are only approx 300 people live within a five mile radius of me, he has managed every day but two in the appalling weather, always has a smile on his face, mind you that could be the botox..

My post person is very young. I refer to him as the 'postboy' as opposed to the postman

I have no doubt of that and I will say the same for my postie. Unfortunately
there are amongst them those who are not true to the job and they are the ones who are reported on in the media.
