I thought he was describing him AND introducing him all at the same time! He did make several slips throughout the morning... maybe he had had a tiring and emotional weekend?

I heard a motoring journalist fall in a similar hole (no pun intended) when he was describing how diesel exhaust regulations used to vary so much between various nations. He meant to say "This was a problem for car makers until the major countries got together to decide on a standard..." It came out as "major cunts got together..."

The story goes that Sir Stafford Cripps, a very straight-laced and humourless Chancellor of the Exchequer in the 1940s, was once introduced by a BBC announcer as Sir Stifford Crapps.
