Was a bit of a shock, was only talking about how little anyone had heard of them for months. Great news. No can either the marines (ours, American or Dutch not bothered) please go into Somalia and kick seven tonnes of shit out of their bases.

Ok that was in bad taste but paying them a ransom is just going to encourage more of this kind of thing and westerners wil become prime targets regardless of whether they can afford it or not.

The next time someone gets kidnapped and a huge ransom is asked for I'd say pay up. Get the hostages to a safe area and fly those F15 jets in and napalm the lot of them.

The one time sheer horror effect of this will get the rest of those pirates quaking in their boots and to jump in line and behave themselves.

Ok bad man talk aside i do think an example should be made to deter this from happening again and fear through violence just seems to be the only act that some people respect

Its good news that this couple have been released, but lets not forget that over 400 merchant seamen are still being held hostage by these pirates but this gets little air time by the media...

As far as I am concerned there is only one way to combat these bastards and that is to shoot the shit out of em. Every ship should include special forces troops and when attacked they should open up and blast the fuckers out of the water and send em to meet their fucking maker.
The Russians seem to be the only ones dealing with the twatts as only the Russians can. I saw a short film where a Russian warship captured a ship full of piratres. They were chained to the ships structure and the Russians then returned to their ship and filmed the pirate ship blowing up and sinking with the fucking pirates. Thast is the ONLY way to deal with the bastards. No pussyfooting around,just shoot the fuckers or blow em up.
Eventually these black robbing arseholes will stop.
In the days of old when pirates roamed the seas every warship no matter what nationality summararily hanged pirates whenever they captured them. Piracy eventually died out, and if the same rules were to be applied now then these arseholes would stop doing it.
