From the first time I saw it when it was released in 1974 I've thought it one of the finest films ever made. Intricate, intelligent script, great casting, fabulous cinematography and a wonderful sense of time and place. The only hiccup for me is Polanski's 'Hitchcock' moment as a knife wielding thug. Each to his own I suppose.
