Adult video-sharing list leaked from law firm

They are all Relish, Toungue in Cheek and Freddie films on the Sky list from brit producers.

Yup! They have signed up to "Speculative Invoicing". So if you are torrenting any of their stuff at the moment, it's all being monitored so they can send you a "Copyright Infringement Notice". Mind you they don't make much from it if the accounts are to be believed!

A few other UK producers have been in touch with ACS:Law, but thats all I'll say at the moment, but one is from Liverpool .....

Still going through 3100 emails.

Not read the o2 / Be Unlimited list yet.

Lots of credit card details including cvv codes .... paypal accounts ...... lots of ID documents .... CV's etc.

More to come if you are nice!

I'm surprised anyone would want to associate themselves with these cowboys. Hardly any of these cases go to court, they pick and choose who to chase up (meaning if you're skint they'll leave you alone) and how the hell can one defend themselves of an accusation?

Lord Lucas has brought up ACS:Law in the House of Lords on numerous occasions. This isn't about justice, but scaring people into handing over cash. Bastards.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter received 14th April 2010 concerning Infringement of Copyright. I would like to say that neither myself or my husband remember ever downloading the said film but as you have received evidence from our ISP along with the date and time we cannot therefore deny it. We accept that we have to pay the sum of ?495 but we would ask if it is possible to pay the amount over a period of time as we are both OAP?s with limited income and simply do not have ?495 to pay to you in a lump sum.

Since the date of the incident our computer has had two seperate virus infections and so our hard drives have been wiped clean twice so in all honesty the said film should no longer be in our computer.

My husband and I are both deeply distressed about this and hope you can accept our inability to pay the amount as a lump sum and accept our offer to pay on a monthly basis.

Yours faithfully,

Horrid. Simply horrid.

They'll not want a suicide on their hands, that's for sure. That won't be good for the firm's reputation.

No. but it is a nice little revenue stream. I want my stuff actively shared (note not pirated - that's something entirely different).

Think about it, how many dvd's do you have to sell to break even?

This method of revenue means that, based on the percentages ACS:Law are paying out per infringement, you only need circa fifty copies or just one decent swarm.

Who cares about ruining peoples lives? You just broke even. You'd be an idiot not to want your stuff shared these days whilst this is allowed to go on.

ACS:Law ask for ?495 per infringement and 30% pay up. They send out 10,000 letters at a time.

Nice little earner.

Now tell me you don't want your stuff shared!

The porn industry has been decimated by pirates. The industry that creates the product you like is losing out to pirates. The problem is growing and this is the only way presently available to stop them.

The pirates want you to continue buying to support their pirating activities. Because if you don't buy there will be no more porn created, or the quality will drop.

As for the sob stories, ever thought these were stories put out by pirates?

Let's face it these guys have no scruples about hacking into a list of pirates and spreading it around the Internet. So spreading stories about little old ladies accused of pirating is well withing their scope.

Always read things and think beyond the letters.

And if pirates really care about the innocent being caught up in their activities.

They can always stop pirating.

Or are they saying. Don't track us down and penalise us in case an innocent person gets accused?

Maybe muggers, rapists and fraudsters should take that road.

OTOH, if a company publishes, or threatens to publish, personal data they may
well fall foul of the DPA.
