N Dubz: The game got tame?

Just stumbled on this reality based show on Channel 4 last night and wondered to myself how the game got lame.

I only watched it because I noticed they were using the Contour HD POV cams which look a lot better than what they broadcast but I digress.

That N Dubz lot maybe crazy buck wild and all that but I remember the days when I was going to shows and the likes of Onyx getting kicked out of the country for enjoying the riots caused outside the Hammersmith Odeon in 91 (phew thank god that werent my car) when their show sold out and all the knuckle headz couldnt get in.

Oh I miss the days of rhyme fights and ya mamma got a wooden leg with a kickstand jokes, the spirit that made the hip hop culture so much fun...Before those who couldnt make funnier comebacks had to pull knives and guns because they got psyched out

The NDubz equivalent was throwing his cousin into the pool for being two hours late

I guess they dont make em like they used to. No riot police and tear gas and people running for cover in all directions that made those shows so memorable. The stage dives with timberland boots and busted lips...

Man these kids dont know shit about having fun! Throwing chicks in the pool and ruining their hairstyle is ot the way to go.

These days its called dance music. Back in the day it was fight music!

N Dubz suck a bag of rancid donkey dicks. Someone wants to tell Raoul "Rambo" Moat they fucked his woman.

I always prefered Ice T and Bodycount

Hey man..Now your're talking. Me too.

Hey Intimate..thats a tad untrue...De La Soul are still around turning otu tunes better than they ever have purely on the fan base they accrued over the years.

i dont have much love for commercial rap these days but it seems like a lot of what they felt strong about has been dissolved and for th emost part dont have that fire in their belly that used to wind people up years ago.

"Aint nuttin but a party y'all!"

I do miss the energy of it all back in the day though

I think N-Dubz are the real deal. They grew up in quite tough circumstances and that Dappy guy, the dood with the hat, 'ran with the wrong crowd' for many years. I read an interview with him where he said that he knew if he didn't change his ways he was heading for prison and his parents were very worried that was where he was going. The band was the saving of all three of them I think. It's nice to have artists who sing songs about being from the street who actually ARE from the street - rather than middle-class pretenders who just claim to be. N-Dubz are from Adelaide Road in Swiss Cottage, north London, and grew up in one of those three huge tower-blocks that dominate that road (the buildings are situated just behind Primrose Hill). I know the Swiss Cottage area well. Apparently the band's name N-Dubz comes from the start of their postcode: N W.
