PHOTOSHOP QUESTION

Post by pj »

Hi, I want to find a video tutorial on superimposing one image onto another, but i saw a picture of an examle and it was not called superimposring, there was another term for it. It's not layers or blending either.

here is an example of what I'm doing. imagine a football, with the world superimposed onto ot, but you still get the threads and all of the ball, but it looks like the world was painted onto the ball.

Any help on this one appreciated.

Thanks,

Pj

That's the problem with Photoshop... just not user friendly. Hate the fucking thing!

It may have been called merging or compositing, perhaps. Also refers to images being joined seamlessly rather than one over the other.

Anyway, if you want the top image (the world) to look like it's actually painted on the ball and not just superimposed, you'll need a fair bit of pshop skill.

I think the image in the book was something like this. I'll be putting/blending something onto something else as if it ws painted on.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who finds myself swearing at even the 'Elements' version of it and wondering where my picture went!
