I dont want our boys and girls out in that shithole called Afghnistan but seeing as they're out there where is the fucking entertainment this Christmas time? While the Yanks have all and sundry and even WWE stars what have our people got?Gordon Brown without his tie on?Where are the England Football Team, top acts from the entertainment world,Ryan Giggs,Jenson, celebrities etc etc.?
I m sure if someone was to organise it they would put on a show and pull the stops out but where are the people with the clout?
It's so so quiet ...shame.

It might be that no matter what artist or what type of entertainment they put on, there would be a lobby group claiming it was offensive and demand compensation and appologies etc. An all white act would be racist. Sexy models would be sexist and demeaning to women. An all black act would be patronising and an all male band would still be sexist and demeaning to women!
And besides, someone else would complain "You mean they can waste money on a party but they cant buy decent helicopters".
I don't blame them for just canning it but the poor bastards that miss out are the people who most deserve a bit of fun.

The war is not popular but support for our troops is rock solid. If we cn put on bilge like X factor etc why can't someone sort out some entertainment in tht hell hole.Tom Jones,Shirley Bassey,U2,Take That..not much out of their lives and it would mean a lot.

I thought it was the job of Jim Davidson and The Krankies to "entertain" the troops?

What makes you think "it's so so quiet" for our troops? Are you quoting a particular source - where did you read this?
It's actually rubbish: there are organisations putting on comedy and music shows for the British Forces every single week - out in Afghanistan, all round the world, and for troops when they return from the frontline as part of their process of re-adjustment. We may not hear about these shows very often, but that doesn't mean they don't take place.
Many big name stars appear - and give their time freely - but don't always shout about it, because they're genuinely doing it because they want to, rather than for self-publicity.
So... where did this nonsense story about 'no entertainment for our troops' come from?
