Is Lyndsey Buckingham the best guitarist in the world?

I saw him live in Sheffield on Tuesday and I was blown away.

You must be fucking joking....Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, BB King, Joe Bonamassa, Billy Gibbons. Thousands of better guitar players than Buckingham. Fine songwriter and I like his voice but no axe god, competent at best.

Echo what Arginald said about Buckingham.

Dave Gilmour, Richie Blackmore, Carlos Santana ..... now THOSE guys are guitar players.

And has anyone heard (of) the German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell? Another very fine guitarist.

"Is Lyndsey Buckingham the best guitarist in the world?"

a. Not by a country mile.
b. Even he would laugh at that question.

Nah, Tusk is fine, as is some of his solo stuff (Gift of Screws, say). And though not quite the best, he is certainly a very underrated guitarist.

I'm certainly not an expert on this subject, but watching him live he was awesome. I've never seen guitar solos as good, maybe he's been practising.

For the record I'm not a fan of Fleetwood Mac, I was invited to the concert by friends.

To be fair he does tear it up at the end of "The Chain"

And to be honest, while I acknowledge the skill, theres something to be said about selling millions of records and living that big rock star life.

Whats the point of being a Pele for a pub team?
