Yes there is a new suspect by the name of Robert Mann, a mortuary attendant.

Another name to add to the list.

Some claim that it was an American high society Doctor, others claim it was a member of the Royal Family. Some years ago I went on the Jack The Ripper tour in east London, it was very interesting, many of the locations are unchanged since that time, and the descriptions of what he did are quite disturbing. You wonder how someone could do such evil.

Blimey, what a list now....Sir William Gull, Royal doctor...Walter Sickert, Victorian painter...James Maybrick, Liverpool merchant..and now Mann.

Plus several other names- it is a cottage industry and I remain interested as to why this gets so much publicity when there has been Jack The Stripper more recently and there are supposedly two or three serial killers loose in Britain at any one time....how many years was Fred West's crimes known only to his victims?

Interesting, the worst theory for me has to be Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper?Case Closed, by Cornwell.............utter crap!
This has nothing to do with the fact she is Gay and a yank and more to do with the fact she admits that she did not have a theory about the murders until about a year before her book came out and is convinced that the first name mentioned to her as a possible suspect must be the one who really did it.......!!!??!!?

Maybe people should do voluntary work for victim support or prison visiting to gain an experience and insight into some of the feelings that might be associated with these kinds of crime. It's easy to be interested in things like war and murder when you disengage your emotions and just deal with factual things like modus operandi, body counts and weaponry. They would soon become more distasteful to people if they engaged with it on an emotional level of the tragedy which is visited upon people's lives and which often doesn't go away.
