after watching the game, I actually felt sorry for Man City. It seemed harsh that they lost two minutes after the game was to finish but then why fell sorry for them. only last week adebayor got away with the stamp on Van Persie and Fabregas so why fell sorry for them? Only last week the ref did not punish these incidents as such and actually was clever enough to let play go on and for adebayor to score from the resulting cross in one attack. im by no means critising city, hey if anything good luck to them, they have had hard times in the past few years before the money came in but they honestly need a reality check. Man U deserved to win the game anyway, no ifs or buts. and for anyone intrested i support southampton, so no im not biast!!!

A question for the Ref!!!
When does 4 become 6?

The 4 mins of added time was put on the board just as Bellamy scored the third equaliser and Man City took 58 seconds to celebrate (they just showed it on MOTD2). I thought it was actually longer at the time and think MOTD2 just timed the actual celebration, not the time it took from the goal being scored to the actual restarting of the game.
Then there was a substitution which upto 30 seconds is allowed. That's a minute and a half right there and Owen scored the winner @95:28secs.
Also, on both of Bellamy's goals he did the 'aeroplane' celebration. Something City/Liverpool fans do alluding to the Munich air tragedy. Now, I'm not sure if Bellamy does this celebration all the time but it's not something the fans are going to appreciate. This led to a fan running onto the pitch and Bellamy decided to hit him in the face while 4 stewards had the fan secured. Surely hitting a fan in the face is a sending off offence? Maybe after the Adabayor fiasco only a week ago Hughes ought to be more worried about his players' behaviour rather than highlighting a legitimate length of time allowed for Man Utd to get a winner (and lets not forget that City could have got a winner in that time too. It's not like they weren't allowed to go for the winner.)

I could not understand why Tevez was booed.
It is not as though he walked out on the club and went over to the enemy.
He played for Man Utd (on loan), they had a chance to buy him, but declined, and his loan ended.
Another club came in for him, and he signed for them.
So booing him is rather pathetic and small minded.

>and Man City took 58 seconds to celebrate
Does every ref add on goal celebrations at the end of every match?
I thought goal celebrations were "part" of the match.

Well, three goals were scored in the second half so if each goal takes an average 45 seconds to celebrate and restart the game then that's nearly 3 minutes right there, and that's without adding time on for substitutions and corners (of which Man Utd had about 10 in that half). 3-4 mins is pretty average for games where there have only been one or two goals in a half and not many corners. 4 mins sounds about right.
Let's also remember that this is about hating Man Utd. If this had been Bolton getting a 95th min winner against Portsmouth then no one would give a shit about extra time lengths and analysing physio whereabouts during the game.

>after watching the game, I actually felt sorry for Man City.
Like you I am not a City or United fan, but I also felt sorry for them.
However you have to admire Man Utd as they NEVER give up, and that is why they have won so much since Ferguson has been there.
Many teams may have settled for a 3-3 draw at home.
You also have to say the Giggs pass and Owens goal were wonderful, even though Richards (right back) seemed to have gone walkabout.
City will learn from it, and come back stronger.
It all makes the Premier league even more interesting.

Yes, they should do. The game has stopped after all.
Remember that this ref added another 45 seconds on after Owen's winner.

I've said this many times: Richards is not a footballer! He's got two left feet, the touch of an elephant and his positioning is awful. Power and pace will get you so far, of course, but he should never be anywhere near an England squad.
