I'm sure most of us surpass it, but what is the recommended weekly points intake? I've heard it mentioned on TV but I cant remember. Is it something like 21 points (namely about 10.5 pints of beer) a week or something?

One could argue the "recommended points intake of alcohol" is ZERO !!

One of the guys on the committee that came up with the recommended limits recently admitted that, in the absence of any hard evidence, they simply made-up the figures. I think it may have been the same committee that said Saddam had WMDs!
By the way, never trust a man who refers to booze as 'units of alcohol'!

max_tranmere ,
It varies by body weight and tolerance but a safe way to take it is red wine with meals.

Most single British men will drink anything from 10-16 pints of beer over just a Friday and Saturday night. Add in a Sunday afternoon drink, a weeknight or two in the pub also, and maybe the odd single pint of a weekday lunchtime, and you have confirmation that most of us will die prematurely from liver failure! Yikes!
