Maybe something good has come of Utd losing...

Whilst I support our English Teams in Europe, (seeing as Southampton will never get there!) Thank Goodness there will be no more of that "Champions of England, Champions of Europe" song that Utd fans sing..... that was getting so annoying!!!

Lol, you'd sing it if it was your team!

Well done Barca. They were the better side after the first goal and deserved the victory (though not the lead at the time). Best Barca side in years so no shame in losing to them.

Well done Man Utd too. Two years unbeaten is a record to be proud of in the Champions League. Gone are the days of getting a bye into the next round, or playing a Belgian pub team in the semis.

Trouble with Man Utd is that because Ronaldo doesn't track back Fergie has to stick him up front against better teams. This means Park on one wing and Rooney on the other. To accommodate one player they have two of their better players sitting on the bench (Berbatov and Tevez), and weakening their first team.

Hit the nail on the head Sam, as a united fan born and bred that was hard to watch, it just goes to show how much fletcher is so underrated. He protects the back four and adds so much stability and confidence to the back line. I said to the guys in work at the start of the season get on Barcelona for the champions league and they laughed in my face. I watch a lot of la liga on sky and this year they have just been superb, that was not the best United have to other but Credit to Barca i appreciate quality football and they produced it. Moving onto next year and what Summer purchases Fergie might buy ive heard a few rumours that Ashley young has been singled out although villa would try hard to resist if a player wants to move he will the club can do nothing so i would expect a bid of around ?25 million we will see.

LOL What utter pish ... of course United get beaten fair and square and all United fans without fail trot out that old pisher "We didn't turn up". Of course never wanting to tell the REAL truth they chased shadows for 80 minutes and were made to look like a sunday pub team.

Come on tell the truth ... your only real World Class player (Ronaldo) was nullified and therefore threw the toys out the pram ... the other 10 players then were made to look just what they are ... ordinary.

If Ronaldo goes this Summer I reckon United will win absolutely zilch for the next few years ... because United have become a one trick pony in recent years.

I was quite happy to see ManUre lose.

They and Ferguson and especially Ronaldo really needed taking down a peg or two.

you know the Stretford End sang that at the derby against City in April 1974. The irony was they hadn't won fuckall since 1968 and City had surpassed them with a League title, FA Cup win, League Cup win and European Cup Winners Cup win all in the space of two years. They lost 0-1 to City that day and ended up relegated. The King of the Stretford End scored. I've always thought their fans were fucking daft.

I can see a small clear out at Old Trafford over the summer. Ronaldo and maybe Berbatov (if anyone is stupid enough to buy him). They best wrap up Tevez, or he'll be Liverpool bound.
Giggs and Scholes and Neville will just be 'squad players' as well, no first team automatic selection anymore.
Fergie will also try and get that nippy winger from Villa as well as Barry also from Villa.
Ben Foster will also get the nod over Van Der Saar in goal.
Lessons were learned in Rome after all.
