I couldn't agree more mate. I just hope he gets put in an adult prison and not a soft YOI (young offenders institute).

although i agree with the sentance the british justice system is still hit & miss with length of terms

i can see the killers of baby p getting around 10yrs when then should get at least 30

He's 18 so he'll go into a YOI until he's 21 and then transfer. If the sentence is upheld he'll do 19 of the 22 years in an adult prison.

A few years ago I did a stint inside, mostly at a cat D (open) prison, and there was a policy that they had to have a small percentage of YO's in there... don't know if it is the same for cat A,B, or C prisons.

Dunno Floydoid. Even if they're mixed they should be housed separately shouldn't they ? There's little prospect of this lad's rehabilitation because he'll be spending 20+ years with people who share his values. I hope for everyone's sake Norris Green/ Croxteth or wherever he's from has changed beyond all recognition when he's released.

The misguided souls who think he's a 'legend' will tire of visiting him after 2 or 3 months. For a couple of years he'll prob amuse himself by recreating Liverpool turf wars on the inside and being a nuisance but this time without firearms. Still leaves about twenty years to reflect on a wasted life and to wistfully reflect on all the good things he's missing out on. Because he's irresponsible though all this will be somebody else's fault, and maybe with the help of the Prison shrinks he can tell himself a story that it's all because he was unloved as a child .. so it must be his parents' fault.

Maybe in time the penny will drop that the life he's denied himself is a consequence of the choices he made. Rhys Jones didn't have a choice.

Well there is a code of honour on the inside... I'd say because he's been involved in a crime which has shocked & disgusted the nation he's likely to get the shit kicked out of him on a regular basis, unless he's put in solitary.

They'll say it as they see it - childkiller. Them's the facts isn't it and you're not dealing with people who debate the finer points and whys and wherefores.

Code of honour? It seems a bit rich when one set of criminals can feel superior to another bunch. It would be nice to think of this little scrote getting a hard time inside, but he should really have swung by the neck - then we wouldn't have to rely on the so-called better criminals, like muggers and burglars, to dish out the punishment he deserves. There are some people in prison who really shouldn't be there, but the type of person who will enact a bit of revenge on this low-life will himself be a low-life piece of shit, who just makes himself feel better by convincing himself someone else is worse. Shoot the lot of them and stop the underclass breeding, otherwise this problem won't go away.
