Was in Dubai late last week......36 hours........well what a complete "dump"........i have been to loads of places around the world, but never to a place where NO natural beauty was ANYWHERE to be seen.....no history.........no atmostphere, ........no culture.............nothing.......completely bland........

no wonder they have to offer 0% income tax to attract people......

Yeah, I must admit, if someone asked me if I'd go to Dubai or Milton Keynes, I'd be off to Milton Keynes likes a shot !!!

I went to Dubai on a business convention a few years ago and skipped a day to explore the city.

The oldest building I could find there was from the 1950s. I found an old school from that period that was preserved as a museum.

But you have to remember that Dubai was just a small village on the side of the sea in the 1950s, many of the people were probably nomadic, and arabs did not usually build buildings that lasted.

While parts of it were fairly poor (but what city has not got its poor parts) I would hardly call it a dump, and there are some stunning new buildings being built.

I can think of a few British towns I would be less inclined to visit than Dubai, such as Bradford.

Surely you must have seen some tasty birds? According to the Sun, that lout who was caught bonking on the beach recently, was back again drinking and groping birds with large breasts, he maintains that Dubai is, "Bonking heaven".

If you don't want to toss-off over starchitecture and shopping malls it aint offering much.
