Season 2 came out on region 1 a while ago after a long delay because of poor sales of season 1. So it doesn't look good for a region 2 release.
btw, great taste! TP is my favourite TV show ever.

I would certainly admit that the show went off the boil after the discovery and capture of Laura Palmer's killer and it coasted until the barn-storming finale but it still remains a truly brilliant, surprising and original piece of television when I first saw it.
The movie is an odd film, excellent in its own way though you will be disappointed if you're expecting more of the tv series. Apart from an opening sequence with FBI agents, it is ostensibly a prequel showing the last seven days of Laura Palmer so the killer is there.
Also, despite not being a sequel (which fans desperately wanted), it does contain some info about what happened after the last episode.
So yes, watch all the episodes first. The movie has more in common with Lynch's films. It doesn't have the same quirky humour as the tv series. It's dark, brooding and creepy - helped by that industrial symphony that makes his films so unsettling.

I bought the gold edition from the US which has all the series 1 and 2 and the original pilot and its been remastered so the picture quality is very crisp..oh and 5.1 sound too.
It may still be available from Amazon. I was very disappointed in the region 2 release and I gave my first and second season away to a friend.
Well chuffed withthe Gold Edition. it dont come much better than that
