What a wretched state of affairs.

Winehouse is very talented, but also seemingly very self-destructive.

I'd rather see more of the former than the latter to be honest. Although others, for whatever reason, would appear to prefer otherwise.

27 seems to the "the age" when self-destructive rockers die (Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin were all that age).

Whinehouse turns 25 this month, so my prediction is that she'll ascend to the Big Stage probably somewhere early in 2011.

I'll be back then to claim my prize !drink!.

Cobain, Morrison, Joplin were bipolar. Hendrix was not. Winehouse - the jury is out on that one.

Even though Hendrix had an album track callled "Manic Depression" it is thought that it was not autobiographical.

In the case of Morrison and Janis Joplin aren't you speculating about their bipolarity on the basis of their behaviour? Mr Mojo Risin was off his gourd most of the time and Joplin was a bird and as such subject to mood swings anyway. What are you basing your diagnosis on other than the wish for it to be so ?

Would "not soon enough" be considered as an answer?
