That was a great piece of matchmaking by Frank Warren, did he think he was getting John Prescott! As young as he is it'll be a long road back from a defeat like this for Khan.

To be honest as someone who knows a little about boxing and work for a bookies i was amazed we had Prescott at 7/1 to win! I still feel a little sorry for Khan but hes young still maybe the defeat will do him so good in the long run.

First of all the referee should never be allowed to referee another title shot after that display - no way Khan was in any fit state to defend himself.
Second I have to laugh at Jim Watts comments "Disaster for Amir Khan" ... really it should have read "Disaster for Frank Warren" as he sees his next "free meal deal" go up in smoke, or "Disaster for Sky TV" as they have just signed Amir Khan up to an Exclusive PPV Fight Deal which might not now be quite as high profile as it seemed.
Khan is a pretty decent lad all the same and I am sure he will learn more from this fight than he has done in all his other shoddy matchups - hopefully he will bounce straight back though.

I don't know much about Boxing at all but I have just seen some interviews with Boxing commentators and journalists and more than one said they thought this was the end for Khan, certainly the end of his dreams of getting to the top. The Sun's guy (is it someone Hart?) said that a defeat like this would play on Khan's mind. Also he mentioned its not a surprise as Khan was knocked down rather too often as an amateur.
Great decision by Sky, well done

Well Sky don't always back the right horse do they.Khan has seemed alright but with boxing isn't it all about who the promoters pick as opponents these days as opposed to genuine ability.

In most other sports in 'knockout' competitions such as FA Cup etc you don't get to choose your opponents. In boxing it's a stage managed ascent, but as with everything the hard part is staying at the top.

If you thought that was a good knockout you should have seen Chuck Liddell get knocked the f@ck out on Sat night, wish I had a video but forget boxing, it's had its day, mma's the way forward superstars can lose, who'da thunk it?!
