Queen (with Freddie that is - NOT the current cash-in hybrid with Paul Rodgers).
Arguably the best live rock band of all time (forget your U2s and your Oasises).
Many singers who sound good in the studio get caught out when they go live - not so Mr. Mercury. The great man could sing, and was a great showman to boot.

Kraftwerk, I'd like to say Radiohead but their output in the last ten years puts me off.

sorry mate but i could never take the jam seriously. Weller always reminded me of Rodney Trotter in those days! They tended to dress the same in those crap suits!!
made a few good tunes here and there though i'll give him that.

sorry chaps but over the past 5 years it has to be my chemical romance. although if i had to go old school it would be queen. still quality!
