It's only 8 days away.Which Country will you be adopting? seeing none of our home nations or the ROI are not involved.

I'm purely in it for betting purposes. Will probably do a few single bets on the group games, but i'm going for Germany to win it outright, might have a side bet on Croatia (12/1),with Torres the tournaments top scorer.

If i was to adopt a nation,it would be Italy, only because i like their national anthem,as well as their food and women.

Can't bring myself to supporting Portugal(my mother Nation).not with Ronaldo playing for them !wink! !happy!.

Being English, I have to choose Spain.

They're bound to flatter to deceive.

The problem with Spain is that they have a quality team(on paper),but they just don't play as a team in the big tournaments.Experts say it's got alot to do with the needle Barcelona and Madrid, not the clubs, but the City's in general.

They have a great chance though,'if' they play as a team.Semi finals at best.

As Sam said, being English, he has to support Spain.

Reckon the usual suspects will be there yet again---Italy, Germany, France.

Watching Spain is like watching a Mercedes with a 50cc engine.

For me, I'm going for Germany. After years of being in the doldrums (apart from the last world Cup - as hosts), it looks as though they are back to their near best.

Im with the Czech Rep. Sadly no Rosicky tho who is injured but i like the Czechs. Pavel Nedved was quality for the national team, shame he has retired at national level. But Baros, Koller, Cech, GalaseK, etc. Should put on a good show.

Betting wise im with Czechs, the Swedes (cos of Ibrahimovic and Anders Svennson (EX- SAINT :) ), and the Russians (Gus Hidink is a quality manager, easily top 5 in the world!!!) All small Each ways.

Outright- it would have to be the germans. watched them in the qualifiers at the millenium, klose was brilliant that day so they are going to be there or thereabouts.

Torres or Klose have to be the bets for Golden Boot. Possibly David Villa.....

I always like watching Portugal in the past, but now Ronaldo is on the world stage, the media will be on about him and not the team.....a bit like England and Beckham a few years ago.
Germany play decent stuff, as do Italy..............as long as we get some good football to numb the pain that England and Scotland* are'nt in it, I'll be happy.

* Before any Welsh, Republic of Eire and Northern Ireland fans start pissing and moaning..........your National Teams were piss poor and didn't deserve to go through, if ANY team out of the 5 deserved to go, it'd have to be Scotland, who were fucking unlucky NOT to qualify!!
