Only seeing this as an outsider, hundreds of miles away, but Ken has pissed off a lot of people with the traffic charging in the capital. As a result, he's getting his arse kicked, and Londoners---spurred on by those voices of reason The Mail, The Evening Standard and Moses Dribble---have chosen to elect a buffoon as mayor.
Livingstone is a whiny, annoying git. But back in the 1980s he tried to do something about London congestion by putting resources into the buses and underground, trying to cut the amount of traffic in the city. Those ratepayers who wouldn't use public transport if their lives depended on it objected strongly, and Lord Denning upheld their complaints in court.
If anything, history has shown Ken to have been a visionary, and history will judge many of us as irrational---as irrational as many Americans are with their guns, that's how we are with our cars.
If my town had a decent transport system, one that ran frequently and even outside normal working hours, I'd maybe use my car once a week to get to work. As it is, the location of my work, and the awkward hours, means I have to use it all the time. Cities get clogged up even outwith peak times. Driving should be fun, not an ordeal---stuck in some queue for ages while the line of traffic inches forward.
Hope you Londoners enjoy having Boris as boss. Just remember, it's what you voted for.

"boris will be mayor for big buisiness and for the rich"
You really need to check out how much Ken handed on a plate to Capita, if you want to know about big business.
Thats before you get into the realms of how much he has handed to his mates!

Londoners have officially lost the plot thats all i can say. I might wake up soon and discover that this is all a bad dream. Can't be real surely?

Which -if true- proves my argument with Barcode. 1/3rd of Londoners weren't born in the UK which means at least some brown-skinned people actually buy the Daily Mail! !shocked!
In all seriousness though, who in their right mind would vote for Boris? The mind boggles...

For the record,i voted for the ex-Copper,shirtlifter Paddick.
Is it any surprise that Londoners have either voted for Lib Dems,BNP or any other alternative,to get Livingstone ousted from power?
Most people here don't live in London,so how the fuck can they judge or decide what is good for Londoners?
Ken cares more for for Havana than Hackney or Hounslow.
He has destroyed the Transport system, and don't give me that bollocks about doing good for the less 'well off' of Londoners.
He has dug his own grave, and i certainly won't be shedding any tears later today.
People are only disappointed that Boris is going to win, because that spells disaster for New Labour for next year.
What is it again?.ahh.You reap what you sow!!Sam Slater wrote:

I don't know who is worse on the election subject----Moses D or the football hooligan.
And no, I don't understand how anyone would vote for Boris. What is it about London mayoral candidates, though? Do they all have to have to pass a philandering test to win the nomination?

Why is everyone proclaiming Johnson the winner?
The results haven't been announced - or leaked - yet, have they?
