You music lovers out there. What are your best or favourite song intro's?,that magical piece of instrumental before the lyrics start.

I quite like the intro to Pink Floyd's Shine On,You Crazy Diamond',though some might think it's long winded.I also think the intro to 'Teenage Kicks' by The Buzzcocks is quality as is Sham 69's 'The Kids Are United'.

My favourite though is the excellent 'Sweet Child o Mine' by Guns n Roses. When Slash slams that guitar at the start, then you know a quality song will follow.

So what are your favourites then?.I expect to see alot of Air Guitar on here !wink!

There are a lot of great intro's ... one which doesn't tend to get due recognition is 'Up The Junction' by Squeeze. It's great for its simplicity, the melody then the drum break which starts the song. Just class !

The Associates' 'Party Fears Two' intro headed a few songs over the years.

OMD always had great intro's to their songs,as already mentioned, the intro to'Souvenir' is an amazing bit of Keyboard/Symphosiser(sp?).

I also like the haunting intro's like 'Ghost Town' by The Specials,Mike and the Mechanics 'Living Years' and 'Belfast Child' by Simple Minds.

It's all the oldies imo that have the good intro's.It's all 'techno techno' these days.
