Wonder if they'll stick to the old theme tune and drag Murray back?

At least we'll get rid of James Allen!!

This was a carve up between BBC and ITV in my opinion.

Both BBC and ITV were after the Champions League Wednesday night fixture which ITV eventually paid ?70m for. The BBC had made it clear that they wanted this at all costs after losing the FA Cup and England games to ITV and Setanta but have admitted that in the end they never made a bid.

What I reckon happened is that ITV couldn't afford both the Champs Lge and Formula 1 and approached Bernie Ecclestone about getting out of their 5 year F1 contract 2 years early.

Ecclestone was happy as the TV rights with the Beeb went up from ?43m to ?50m and in return the Beeb promised ITV that if it got F1 from ITV then it wouldn't bid for the Champs Lge games.

I maybe wrong but that's what I think happened in that they stitched it all up between themselves.
