Yeah some people's posts there were infuriating but, if all they know of the porn industry is a few loose tabloid assumptions and then they see that film what else can you expect. Maybe not everyone has a critical eye & they haven't bothered to consider the ways in which they were manipulated by the documentary.

We're all agreed that, as the programme told it, Felicity had a hard time & met some horrible people. The difference is that the people posting to this forum think "yeah, she was taken advantage of, but one cautionary tale doesn't mean that porn per se has to be exploitative" whereas people posting to C4 are glad to have found ammunition for their "porn is misogynistic abuse" stance. Probably the people posting to C4 would be amazed to hear that there are people like Layla-Jade (who, despite having seen in the film, they can't have thought too deeply about, because it would challenge their conservative orthodoxies) let alone Jenna, women who are doing well at playing the system for their own advantage, and good on them!

In my mind porn is neither good nor bad in itself, it's more to do with the mindset of the person either acting in it or using it. Go into it with a messed up head and it may well mess you up more; go into it confident, free of emotional baggage, and knowing that you're in control of what you're doing, and it can definitely be a good thing.

As an analogy I think in this respect porn is much like hallucinogenic drugs, but I'd better not go *there* in this forum!

Posted my thread below in response with a couple of additions questioning the motives of the docu maker and C4. If anyone can be arsed to check this for responses tomorrow post here please. Life's too short for me to check their forum again, but if anyone else does....
