On that note, the UK seems to chip in with quite a bit of aid:

Which is obviously greatly appreciated.

So bloody true and it aint no teddy bears picnic

Most OECD countries give a little bit back to the 3rd world

You won't hear to much about what the 3rd world does for the west via cheap labor etc

As a percentage of their GDP donations to the 3rd world are a pittance...somewhere between .3 to .7%

The truly staggering statistic is for all the hoopla that surrounds the donations the West gets a return of 9/1 of trade/donations from the 3rd world

Just imagine if all those workers perished

This woman was just naive, here in the West if you named a Teddy Bear Jesus you would upset a lot of christians but i doubt if they would come out in force with machettes wanting to slice you to bits.

Not these days but a few hundred years ago in Europe you would have got a very different reaction to a perceived attack on the Church and/or Christianity (in that order).

If you were lucky you would have got excommunicated or imprisoned - with a bit of proscription thrown in for good measure.

If you were unlucky, or Jewish, or poor, or female, you would have been Inquisitioned with extreme prejudice and then executed with extremer prejudice.

The Roman Catholic Church at that time had many levels of prejudice.

And they still do.

It's their culture.

Sure they do - but they've long since moved on from the barbaric nonsense that still characterises Islam.

What you write just goes to highlight how mired Islam still is in the Middle Ages.
