I've just acquired a new camera and thought that a spot of glamour photography might be fun.
Choices in the back of Practical Photography are a bit bewildering, does any one have any thoughts on which models/studios would be a good place to start?
TIA
Models/Studios??
Re: Models/Studios??
Depends a bit on where you are. The attached link shows most UK studios; I suggest you have a look at the sites and see what they offer.
This is not a cheap hobby! Most studios have club nights where you jostle with up to twenty other people to photograph one girl. Hopeless, but at least it's not too expensive. Otherwise you have to rent a studio, say ?30.00 for two hours, rent the girl, say ?100.00 if you want to see the more interesting bits, buy film (the place in Guernsey is excellent), then have it processed. Not much change from ?200.00.
Of course if you have bought a digital camera you will save on film, as you will with a video camera.
In London the best studio is probably the Beehive, but no doubt you'll end up choosing the nearest. Beware the models with their own studios. They tend to be old (the model), and a tight squeeze (the "studio").
Anyway, get stuck in, and good luck.

Re: Models/Studios??
I think Callipygea forgot to attach his link
There are plenty of studios listed at
so perhaps that's where he meant.

Thanks Joey, that's a good one too, but what I omitted to add was this: http://www.stolenfaces.co.uk/glamour_studios_links.htm
Re: Models/Studios??
Lots of fun can be had taking photos of Lana Cox or Tess Scott up at Studio Janor in Leicestershire.
I'm a total amateur - but am dead chuffed with some of the pics I've taken.
As Callipygea says - its not cheap, but it is money well spent!!
