Strange how he classes himself as a comedian. I always thought comedians said funny things and made people laugh.

Same reaction to Billy Connollys ill timed quip about the then Hostage Ken Bigley in Iraq in 2004
Nothing to do with the PC bridgade IMHO just simply not funny
because the situation is yet to be resolved

Well, have to say I've been shocked at how quickly horrible news stories (Yorkshire Ripper, Hungerford, Space Shuttle disasters) become the subject for black humour, but humour is often a defence mechanism and by making it the subject of a joke can stop people actually thinking about the horror of the subject.
As Buttsie suggested, the main crime committed by Kielty (and Connolly, for that matter) was just not being funny.
The numerical attacks (9/11, 7/7) were too shocking to be joked about----really think they shook the public to the roots.

Can't say I've heard any jokes about 9/11 or 7/7 or even our 200 lost in bali
Its just TOO real and close to home to joke about
The mccann story is one which could happen to anyone with kids
