Magpie always seemed more relevant. Blue Peter was stuck in the 1950s, though there were some good expeditions and tasks for the Noakes/Singleton/Purves team.

Magpie had Arnold Schwarzenegger showing Tommy Boyd how to be a bodybuilder, for example. How weird is that?

Magpie.

Not sure if any of it has survived in the archives though, as AFAIK it went out live and wasn't recorded (might be wrong on that though).

Blue Peter for me - my parents didn't allow me to watch Magpie. BP was worthy, educational and informative whilst Magpie (I did watch it when I left home) seemed sexy and "with it".

Magpie.

One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told.

Can't remember anymore.

Hey SL

Magpie was before my time im afraid but im guessing I would have prefered it. I bloody hated Blue Peter as a kid!! I still cringe when I see that thingy Duncan or whats her face Ellie Bextor.

How ever....

Over the past ten years or so I think it has become a fantastic program. I watch it when ever I get the chance. I have seen more than my fair share of presenters either free fall parachuting or training with the RM (why do they all ways do these two things)

Whilst on the subject (kinda) did any one else used to watch Book Tower or Dramarama? They are two of my earlist after school program memories. Dramarama knocked out some smashing stuff as I recall.

Cheers

BB

So you're too young to recall the heyday of BP with Valerie 'always gorgeous' Singleton, the boy 'Noakesy' and Peter 'Pelvis' Purves.
