Why is Pete Doherty not in jail?

Why is the walking waste of skin and bone aka Pete Doherty not in jail? He has a rack of offences for drugs yet remains a free man. Whose chain is he yanking to stay outside? What he needs is a few months in a cell with Big Clarence and his bacon torpedo to straighten him out.

Perhaps there are no vacancies at present for a 'prison bitch' .

I'm not sure a few months with Big Clarence would "straighten him out."

But you do have to wonder how many last chances this talentless tosspot will get before someone realises he isn't going to clean up his act.

got off on a technically apparently technicality i mean.police needed to get him to court within 24 hours of arrest and didnt manage it so judge had no choice but to let him go unbelieveable isnt it

Why should he go to jail .... As far as we all know he's a drug taker, i've not heard off him selling drugs or mugging for the cash or stealing cars for a buzz.

In my eyes he hasn't broken any laws .... he's a druggie not a criminal, i agree he's seems to be a total asshole but until i actually meet the guy i reserve judgement.... he will be gone soon enough if he carries on as he is.

The attitude to bang up every minor criminal offense is what is causing the problem of overcrowding in the jails.

Pisses me off that type of attitude .... close minded.

yeh ... your right there, forgot about that.

However we do still need to sort out a different method of punishment. The way we're going we'll all be doing time for some obscure offense.
