1. Donovan had a musician friend called Gypsy Dave (on kazoo, apparently), can't find anything else though.
2. The Shirelles had a single called 31 Flavors that mentions "Ice Cream Joe" and was featured in the film It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, if it's any help.
