If this is not at least 6-0 in response to a shocking 0-0 against Israel, McClaren should pack his bags.

Lampard out, Hargreaves and Gerrard partnership in midfield which should mean Lennon on the right and a left footed Downing/Barry on the left.

Not the best individuals but a better team with balance.

If this is the case then all I have to say is:

England 1 Andorra 0.

They'll just about nudge it. Which is worrying for when the actual competition starts.

Mind you, they could have picked Stuart Pearce for the job and England would have really been in the shit, ask any Manchester City fan!

I understand that hargreaves has been once of our best players in the last year but why the hell do we need a holding midfield player against Andorra!

It's obvious Lampard can't perform for England as well as he does for Chelsea but even he can play well against Andorra, i for one would like to see Gerrard and Lampard in the middle for this particular game. Even though their track record together is poor we need as many attacking players on the pitch as possible against Andorra, don't need a defensive midfielder for this game.

I agree. Not a fan of Lanpard, but I do think Lamps and Gerrard can play together in this particular game. In fact they could have played together in the last game.

Hargreaves isn't just a holding midfielder though as we saw in the World cup. He is capable of decent passes and runs into the box also. Lampard has a broken wrist I think so Gerrard and Hargreaves are set to play together in the middle. Practice for upcoming games hopefully.
