Giving to charity = cool
Red Nose Day = unfunny pile of shite with crap celebs plugging their wares. They should all donate some of their normal inflated wages to the charity as ordinary members of the public do too. It's alot easier to give up an evening of your time (especially if you are trying to get in the public eye) than put your hand in your pocket.
And Lenny Henry = never was, never has been, and never will be funny.
If we all agree to donate to charity on a regular basis will the BBC finally retire this cheap TV once and for all?

I watched the Red Nose version of the Apprentice last night. It provided proof, if any were needed, that Piers Morgan and Alistair Campbell really are a pair of complete and utter cunts. The fact that they hate each other only made it more amusing, in a sick sort of way.

This 'show' really grinds my gears, only the English could think up something like this, it,s an admirible thing to do to help your fellow man as long as your fellow man appreciates it. The only thing that will stop poverty is uncorrupted politicians and democrocy, a lot of Africa is very wealthy, Africa should be helping Africa, not us.
So why dont Bono and Geldof etc, hire a plane fly to Zimbawe and seek an audience with Mugawbe call him a Cunt, give him a slap, and tell him to distibute his wealth amongst the poorer people?.
I personally would like to see Geldof use his media power to campaign for Justice and freedom in this country, for better Hospitals, better free healthcare, better state pensions, respect for older people, campaigning for a better police force etc but unfortunately He's not very good at doing that it's too difficult. I wont be giving a fucking penny to Africa until this country has cured itself first.

Agreed. Hey, it?s all part of the BBC?s PC agenda to big up ethnic comics, whether they are amusing or not. What about that universally derided ?Little Miss Roslyn? shite they tried to lay on us a few months ago? Can?t see ?em commissioning another series of that, PC or not.

It's not difficult - it's just that Geldof and Bono and the gang enjoy having their noses shoved far up the arse of power. There's no way they'd say anything that might upset their buddies Blair and Bush.

FOR all the negativity about this particular enterprise, if the T-shirt I'm now wearing and the nose I have bought help to save just ONE child's life in Africa, then it'll be worth it.
I'm a dad and my kids will want for NOTHING. There are some poor souls on this planet who have NOTHING.
Well, I'm prepared to help those less fortunate in my own small way with a T-shirt and nose and contribute towards an organisation that has raised ?425m for good causes in the UK and Africa since it was founded in the 1980s.
Yes, a lot of the comedy stuff on the TV tonight will be garbage but the point of the night is fundraising - and I'm happy to report I've done my bit.
Anyway, to end on a light note, here's one of my favourite (now dated) gags:
Q. What's green and takes half an hour to drink?
A. A student grant cheque! !laugh!

Possibly, but more to the point, nobody at the BBC seems to understand what the word "funny" means. If they wanted to be PC and pick black comedians they could have chosen much funnier ones than Lenny Henry. But the BBC rarely does funny.

There are exceptions: League of Gentlemen, Ideal, Peep Show... actually BBC2 and BBC3 can do funny, just not BBC1.

Isn't Peep Show on Channel 4?

Oops, you're right.

That leaves League of Gentlemen (very funny) and Ideal (quite funny). Little Britain series 1 was funny, but the joke wore thin very fast. Is that all the decent comedy the BBC's managed to come up with???
