Hey gang, me and the missus fancy a bit of a raunchy night out in town - at a sex club. We won't be swinging, just getting it on among what we hope will be a decent crowd of 'normal' human beings. Are there any non fetish, relatively non scary/sleazy places anyone would recommend?

Hmm... not so much in the City itself... you could try a wander through the Yahoo group UK_Health_Spa_Regulars and see if anything takes your fancy.
Pleasures in Kent is a good regular pay-as-you-ahem-enter couples party but they're closed now till New Year's Eve and they're in, er, Kent

If its a Saturday you could try Rios in Kentish Town, its couples only from 6pm until midnight and it stays open until 7am so you dont need to book a hotel !xmas!!xmas!!xmas!
