Zara Phillips - BBC Sports Personality 2006?

Post by algarve addick »

If ever there was any doubt as to the legitimacy of these daft awards, this year's result just about sums up the whole competition.
I can only assume that her parents and grandparents took it in turns over a 3 week period to phone in to the BBC, casting multiple votes for the little toff to beat off the opposition.
I dare say that the 'average' man in the street has never even heard of HRH, much less likely to vote for the stuck-up little bint.
Nice tits, mind you.......

Couldn't agree more. Ok she may have talent, but 'Sports Personality of the Year'? My choice would have been Calzaghe or Hatton. Calzaghe's big performance against Lacey which leaves him undefeated champion for 9 years, or Hatton who at one point this year had '3' world titles to his name in the toughest of sports.

Anyway, didn't the horse do 75% of the work when HRH won?

no one gives a toss about boxing too meny dodgy promoters and belts,we do concentrate on major sports too much so why not zara winning she's the best in the world in her sport.

Not disputing her talent, but it's a 'personality' award and I'd say 90% of the British public had never heard of her until she won the award. Hardly 'personality of the year'.

Calzaghe would have got my vote.
But i'm glad Zara won it and not Phil Taylor, i mean we are scraping the barrell when you get nominated for playing a pub game.
Who will be in it next time the British dominoes champion?

I beg to differ.
I, like a lot of my mates, follow boxing with great enthusiasm.
Yes, there's a lot of shady characters in the game, but then the same could be said for football and porn............my other 2 passions!

How many people in the UK actually knew of her acheivements this year i doubt was very high in numbers.
It was obviously rigged and brings in to question all others in the past.
A farce

Hmm. Bad year for footy/cricket/rugby perhaps?

Mind you, a photogenic posho who's in with "The Firm" and fairly skilled with an elitist sport winning it shouldn't come as a surprise, not on the BBC anyway.

Why on earth do they foist this yearly twaddle upon us? Does anyone actually give a toss who wins?

"Let's do it..."
