new Borat Movie,,..overrated or what?!

I admit it.
I fell for the HUGE hype generated for this pile of shite like 10's of thousands of other British punters over the past week or so.
WHAT A FUCKING LETDOWN.
Most of the film is of Silly Bollocks Cohen going over old ground, rehashing similar material from the TV series (remember the dining room etiquette sketch) Most of it is clearly staged and the so-called victims are obviously in on 'the gag.'
The 'hilarious' naked wrestle is just plain sad. and I for one left the cinema as amused as one of Max Hardcore's abused trailer-trash whores.
Do yourself a favour - AVOID.

I suppose that as like many a film, it is primarily intended for the US market, where he is still relatiely unknown. However the success of Borat seems to have put a bit of a kibosh on his plans to do one on the gay Austrian fashion character.

SB Cohen's characters are fine in short doses - a bit like Paul Kay's Dennis Pennis creation - but to attempt a full length feature film is pushing it to the extreme, particularly with such flimsy material at his disposal.If there was more than 10 minutes worth of laughs in this movie I'd be surprised.

I cant comment on this film but that Ali G flick a few years ago was cack. Why did I see it then? Cos I had no idea what Ali G was about. It was painful to say the least and I cant say I found Borat that funny as a character either...But hey, thats me. If the guy has made zillions so far then someone must find him funny.

Ok then I might have chrtled within the first 30 minutes but then I found myself becoming increasingly irritated and fidgety over things that werent funny that was supposed to be.

Why do movies think they have to speed the last act of a movie up with some pathetic chase or rush to catch something in order to complete a movie in favour of something a bit more engaging?

I understand most of the people in the film weren't IN on the jokes and got paid fuck all while Sach B C has made a mint. I find his humour quite puerile, same with Ali G. However I am going to see it this week with a few friends from work so might change my mind. Off screen SBC is reckoned to a classic case of the paranoid comedian a la Hancock. He hates being interviewed out of character which scares me slightly.
